Memo: hurricane relief
Other Ways to Help:
1. Buy a Virtual Christmas from a Family Christmas Tree Farm who lost 80,000 Christmas trees.
2. Purchase from Hannah's Amazon Wish List.
When speaking with Hannah on the phone, she told me that she uses the monetary gifts to help those in need find shelter/a new home. She has helped purchased campers, built homes, and repaired homes. She gave a family $500.00 for a security deposit, so the family could move into an apartment. They didn't have the security deposit payment, since they haven't worked since the hurricane. Her Amazon Wish List is updated regularly with the needs of the people. There focus is to get as many people as they can into a home before the snow falls. She said plastic bins are super important. Some people had their whole house damaged, except one room. So, they are living in that one room. Their items need to be stored in bins outside since there isn't room inside the one room for living space and items. Same goes for a camper. Little space inside to accommodate the family and their belongings.
